International Course in the Middle East by Electronic Commerce Code Management Association (ECCMA)
Starnode and our Sister companies Pilog (Saudi Arabia), Pilog Al Jaber (UAE) are glad to announce the hosting of an International Cataloging Standards course in the Middle East as conducted by the Electronic Commerce Code Management Association (ECCMA). This course is intended for every one, which considers cataloging and cataloging standards as critical and important for their Master Data standardization objectives in their business.
The Starnode and Pilog group has for the past 7 years employed the Universal standard Catalogue (USC) in all our Master Data Acquisition projects in the Middle East. The USC standard has now been officially registered with ECCMA as approved Identification Guides (IG) and this secures the investment that Middle East companies have made in their data, based on the USC. This course will therefore benefit all our existing and future customers as well.
Starnode decided to make the Services USC available to ECCMA for incorporation into the eOTD. This was accepted by ECCMA and the services USC will therefore be registered in the eOTD as well. All of the above serves as proof that all the current and future Starnode clients are and will be aligned internationally and that their investment is safe.
The Executive Director and Chief Technical Officer of ECCMA, Mr. Peter Benson and Mr. Steven Arnett the Deputy Chief, International Cataloging Division of the US Defence Logistics Information Service (DLIS) will be providing training on the practical implementation of the eOTD in cataloging and spend analysis as well as in procurement and inventory system management.
The course is designed for both government and commercial buyers looking to reduce free text or maverick spend as well as to reduce transaction cost while reducing procurement cycle time and increasing access to vendor inventory of both goods and services. The two and a half day course also covers the use of the new ISO 22745 and ISO 8000 standards to improve data quality. The course covers the design and implementation of practical solutions that will improve the quality of data needed to support better contracting, purchasing and analysis.
Skillfully designed to be accessible and interesting to both technical experts and managers, the course provides the knowledge and expertise to successfully design and manage projects that enhance a company's bottom line in both the short term and on an ongoing basis. This is rare opportunity to participate in a unique training program delivered by two of the world's prominent leaders in international cataloguing and electronic commerce.
