PiLog - Classification

A classification is a grouping of classes, while they are used for many purposes, spend analysis is the most common. The value in a classification comes from its hierarchical or tree structure with the ability to “roll up” or “break down” categories according to the hierarchy.

PiLog uses the ECCMA Open Technical Dictionary (eOTD) as its primary dictionary of classes, as these are mapped to a wide number of international classifications such as the United Nations Standard Product and Services Classification (UNSPSC), the United Nations Common Commodity Code (UNCCS), and the European Union Common procurement Vocabulary (CPV), as well as many commercial industrial and procurement classifications.

PiLog assigns the eOTD class as part of its data cleansing services and uses the ECCMA provided mapping tables to add the classification of your choice. If you have an in-house classification, PiLog will map this to the eOTD and include it as part of the data cleansing service.
